B.A.C.K. TO BASICS Pilates with Amy Cady
Building the foundation for a healthy back and core.
Introducing the B.A.C.K. to Basics Program and Amy Cady
This is the year I have decided to get in line mentally, spiritually, physically and emotionally I want to make a change and would love for you to follow along with me on getting my body healthy. As part of this journey, I have created Project 180. Project 180 is a well rounded program that will assist you in creating goals that are achievable. It will also help you identify challenges and change your mindset. This will help you to turn your life around. Within Project 180, I am including a workout component that will help me strengthen my core and help decrease my back pain. I have a degenerating disc between 2 vertebrae in my lumbar spine and I have been told that it will get worse over time, but I know with exercise I can help alleviate the pain by working on core strength. I have access to my friend Amy Cady who is an amazing woman who happens to be a Pilates instructor, and incredibly enough she also teaches those who want to become Pilates Instructors. (To learn more about Amy, see her bio.) I have asked her if she could develop a Mat Pilates Program, starting from the very basics and progressing as I get stronger. We discussed how we could make this available to a larger audience, and this is why this Program was developed. So many people suffer from back pain, but even more importantly, as a part of a strong and healthy body, it is important to make sure that your core is strong. Even if you do not have back pain, you can prevent it by incorporating these movements into your workout program. We have started with 8 workouts that take you back to the basics of core strength. We also have a goal of creating a monthly program that takes you through progressing for a full 6 months. These 8 workouts can be used 3-4x per week to keep your back and core healthy and strong.
In each video, Amy explains modifications for each exercise so you can follow along at your own pace. This Program is designed for the beginner, or those that may be having minor back issues, and are permitted to partake in this Program by your doctor.
